S&P Global Ratings on Tuesday said the Indian economy is set for "resilient growth" in 2025 and projected inflation pressure to recede which will lead to "modest" easing of the monetary policy by the RBI.
In its India outlook for 2025, S&P also retained India's growth forecast for current fiscal at 6.8 per cent, followed by 6.9 per cent growth in 2025-26.
"The Indian economy is set for resilient growth in 2025 on the back of strong urban consumption, steady service sector growth and ongoing investment in infrastructure," Vishrut Rana, Economist at S&P Global Ratings, said.
We expect the central bank to ease monetary policy modestly during 2025 as inflationary pressures recede, Rana said.
Last week, RBI retained benchmark interest rates at 6.5 per cent to control inflation but cut the cash reserve ratio (CRR) by 50 basis points to infuse liquidity into the system.
India's economy grew 8.2 per cent in 2023-24.
It said the GDP growth print for fiscal Q2 (June-September 2024) .

Dr Morepen on Tuesday forayed into the growing wellness segment with the launch of a weight management initiative.
The company, a fully-owned subsidiary of Morepen Laboratories, is looking to establish itself in the segment which is currently valued at around Rs 12,000 crore and growing at an annual rate of 16 per cent.
The company has launched its wellness product -- LightLife -- designed to tackle India's growing obesity crisis.
India's obesity rate is increasing and this segment is expected to touch USD 52.3 billion by 2032, "reflecting the urgency to address weight management with solutions that are both safe and effective," Dr Morepen CEO Varun Suri said.
With LightLife the company is looking to address the obesity issue without crash diets or harmful fads, he stated.
According to the World Obesity Atlas 2024, over 25 per cent of Indian adults are projected to face obesity by 2035.

The Supreme Court on Friday said the plea seeking a policy for verification of electronic voting machines should go before the same bench that delivered a verdict in April rejecting the demand for bringing back the old paper ballots.
When the plea on EVMs came up for hearing, a bench of Justices Vikram Nath and P B Varale told petitioner's counsel senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan, "Why don't this matter go before the same bench?"
Sankaranarayanan informed the court about its April judgment on a batch of pleas over EVMs.
"That is what I am saying. It (plea) should go before the same bench," Justice Nath reiterated.
The bench further said, "To our understanding, the reliefs claimed by means of this petition under Article 32 of the Constitution of India would require interpretation/modification/implementation of the directions issued by this court vide judgement dated April 26, 2024 ..."
In its verdict on April 26, the apex court termed the suspicion of manipulation of the EVMs
